IMO when assessing and comparing QB's and their ratings you need to account for the numbers offered up by those compare.
When comparing Goff against the others in the playoff round and you put Goff at the top or near the top the numbers could outweigh the rating.
As an example QB 1 .....7/10 88 yards and a TD....that comes out to a 130.4 rating.....that's higher then Rodgers had against the RAMS......but is that really a comparison of their play? 130.4 vs. 108? How about Rodgers season rating of 121 to that of QB 1....130 vs. 121? The numbers that compute the rating can skew the importance of the rating structure.
174 yds. and 1 TD are pedestrian at best.....using the rating system to up his play doesn't really work.
What I find the funniest crap on here is how many times people want to point out how Goff is 22nd in NFL in passer rating , but as soon as he puts up a better rating than 80% of the other QB's in the playoff games this week, it's somehow qualified and nullified
It is what it is man..... can't have it both ways
Btw, he also had the second highest QBR behind only Rodgers this week with an 84.4 for what ever that is worth....I'm sure you can qualify that one too if you like
Rodgers 92.1
Goff 84.4
Mahomes 75.8
Brady 75.7
Mayfield 64.2
Jackson 55.7
Allen 51.0
Brees 31.7
