there are different ways to get there...

I'm not defending Goff as not having some big issues to work through. But overall I don't agree with the "this is LA, the QB needs to light it up" theory. Now, he's DONE that before- 2017 and 2018 (and games here and there since). But you can have a 100+ QB rating a lot of different ways. Heck, Warner won his 2nd MVP in a year that he threw 22 INTs. His other numbers were off the charts...

With Jared, in my opinion two numbers need improvement- Yards/Attempt and INT%. His yards/attempt in 2017-2018 was 8.2. For years the Rams struggled to get any QB to even 7.0. His completion percentage was a career high this year under McVay while his YPA were a career low under him. We all saw the passing offense shrink down to within 10 yards of the LOS and that has to change. Doesn't have to be bombs away but things need to spread out again.

And with INT%, it was 1.8% in 2017-2018 and has been 2.5% since. To put that in context it's not a huge difference really. That would be 22 INTs vs. 29 the past two seasons if he was as careful with the ball as he was in 2017-2018. But little mistakes do add up and amplify... plus the fumbles. If I were him I would seriously consider wearing gloves full-time going forward. Just a thought but it worked well for Warner (different circumstances).

Improve those two stats and the rest all falls into place.
