Good stuff
Yeah, this is not the same offense talent wise as it was in 2017-2018 when we would have several reps for pro bowl on this offense.....we have zero this year but some expect Goff to be the same top 7 QB as he was in 2017-18 and pretty much blame him for the losses, yet never credit him in the wins(which btw he still has 2nd most in NFL since 2017 behind Brady)
This is not to say there is no blame for him for some of our struggles lord knows there is. but it's not hard to see why he does from time to time
We still have a good chance to go 11-5 or 10-6 and many of those same people never predicted that for this team this year, but will never admit Goff deserves some credit for it
Thanks and I feel as you do. Could Goff be losing confidence in himself or his teammates and we see this season spiral. Possibly but I doubt seriously his issues have to do with disbelief in his teammates.
Goff is not taking the air out of our game he is not reigning in or wr route tree he is being asked to succeed differently and this is what that looks like for this team while in a transition.
This inconsistencies are a product of dramatic change, attrition and adjustment. McVay should know even more and if he has not conceded that Goff is less than the caliber of QB talent he likes to lead his offense then I am not going to argue differently. I might argue he has to flex in what Goff and these players did well in the past with what they do well today and come with our best.
This team will align along his approach but he can't let that limit him or this teams chances.
