Passer rating is much easier to do a direct comparison than wins. That's why people focus on that and QBR. Both of those metrics have their issues to but you can't even start doing a direct comparison with record alone.

We've seen 2 starting NFL QBs in McVay's offense. How do you feel Goff and Cousins stack up against one another?

Yeah, I defy someone to come up with a single example of a person valuing passer rating over the team's won/loss record. That's a strawman of the highest level.

“McVay had Colt McCoy at a 96 rating and Cousins was a mid round pick. I really don't think that Goff is doing something that many other QB's couldn't closely replicate. Especially if much of the $135M went to upgrade other areas”

When I point out the win/loss record you go back to passer rating and say McCoy is as good as Goff
