I would rank it Martz McVay Vermeil
Of course having the combination of Vermeil's organization skills and Martz's innovation both with attitude, approach, player development, and game day planning was the ultimate.
But I have said it many times, McVay is the best thing since Mike Martz and may very well be the top guy of all time.
What Vermeil had over Martz and McVay is "Trust" and organization. Surround yourself with good people and facilitate them doing their jobs. Martz and McVay have been too controlling on both assistant coaches and letting the quarterback take over late in games. It cost McVay the superbowl with the famous "Just Got It Off" series against the Eagles late in that year when Gurley was still at the top of his game.
But in the end, Martz did something better than anybody has ever done it before.
That offense was beyond beauty!
He changed the entire sport of football and pioneered decades of excellence in the entire sport. Think about all the great changes in the world over the past few centuries and what Martz did not only with football, but all of sports with this positive approach and thinking of trying to do your very best and not set limitations is what the world needs more of to keep advancing forward.
