I Want My McV....
I know it's silly but I was just thinking about his qualities and flaws....and I really appreciate this kid's approach to coaching/teamwork and competitiveness.
I've been a Martz guy forever...but this McVay kid embodies everything I love about competition and how sports/football can teach one to be a better human.
I love McVay's drive for perfection and humility. So, anyway, I just posted this as I thought about it.
btw - For fun, why don't ya'll name your fav Ram HCs of all time...we could have a rip-roarin' Thanksgiving thread.
Great question Sun and a hard one at that! It's so tough to choose just one guy. Top considerations of mine...
Dick Vermeil: Great coach who won everywhere he went. Maybe one of the most genuine people ever to be a HC in the NFL. Has to be considered for getting us our only SB win.
Mike Martz: Offensive genius. Some would say he was the reason we won the SB but I say Martz & Vermeil needed each other to balance things out. Martz had many flaws like being pass happy, time management, hiring Larrie Marmie, lol
Maybe not one fav but 2 in Vermeil/Martz combo?
Chuck Knox: One of the best HC's of his time. He had us so close so many times. Great attitude. Great coach.
John Robinson: many good years under him. I somehow think he got a held back by the bad front office.
Sean McVay: Offensive mastermind. The potential to be something special. Has some play calling flaws but is so young and seems to be learning and getting better every year. Might end up being the winningest Rams coach of all time!
Jeff Fisher: Brought our Rams back to Los Angeles! Left us with some pretty good players. Pitty he was offensively handicapped.
I guess my choice would have to be not one HC but a combo of Vermeil/Martz. I don't think we win that Superbowl if either one was not here. If only DV and MM could've stayed together for a few more years! I think we would have been that Dynasty everyone wanted and expected.
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
