That article sounds like he watched a whole lot of that 2018 season. But this is a guy who took a couple years to come on, had a strong season, then 2019 was a down season. So if you look at the body of his career to date it's one really good season.
Rams gambled that they can buy low and get that from him. If they get the guy from a couple years back we're about to receive a huge shot in the arm on defense. But if it's that other guy he won't be more than a rotation piece for run game snaps.
Lions were an average or bad team when Robinson was there.
Now he's set to perform w/a good team that needs his services - i.e., he can be more than just a "rotation piece" - and he's lining up next to the best DL in the league (to say the least).
And he's still a young guy - not much wear'n'tear. AND he has only a 2-year contract.
Once he knocks the rust off, I think we'll see the best AR has to offer. He certainly has every structural incentive to offer it.
