Every coin has two sides. Robinson does not have a sterling performance history with the Lions. I don't know what'll happen with him. But Snead went after him pretty strongly.
I makes me think about other FAs he's picked up like Robert Woods. The Bills fans (and obviously the team FO) were kind of ambivalent about him. Some thought him OK, others slightly less than OK. Rams fans wondered out loud why the Rams would pay pretty good FA money to what seemed to be a rather average NFL WR. Any questions, anyone? Fowler is maybe the better example. Totally average at Jacksonville. Hated it there and wanted out. Comes to the Rams and..... any questions, anyone?
Sometimes for whatever reason players, teams, coaches and systems don't match. That player goes elsewhere and has a career resurrection. Other times what was a great career goes south. Woods was a young man when he came (24 I think), and Robinson is only 25. Both had more development ahead of them.
330 lb. human beings that are athletic and can move are rare. I get this feeling that he is one happy guy to be away from Detroit and to finally be cleared to play some football with a winning and first class organization. We'll see what this translates to on the football field, but there's no reason to be pessimistic about it. Snead has earned my trust. On the other hand, no one calls it right 100% of the time.
And BTW: nobody is going to be slacking on that Dline with AD and Brockers on each side of him. They'll get showed up pretty bad if they do, and get benched.
