but the point here that you are missing it’s rare for any QB and especially Goff to play so poorly when so much around him goes right
great pass blocking
good run game
receivers open
playing defense without many starters including all world pass rushers and missing starters from the secondary
So we are not talking about a QB that had a bad game. Jared Goff has been sacked 7 times this year none last Sunday. The Eagles make shift line has allowed 28 sacks through 6 weeks. The Texans 23
I’m chalking up his uncharacteristic performance when all of those things have gone right to an off night. You just don’t see that kind of game out of Goff when the pieces around him are playing so well. Maybe the 2017 playoff game against Atlanta, and 2018 playoff game against Dallas come to mind off the top of my head but just not many outside of those
Thats what I was getting at with my OP.
And Goff isn't a young kid QB anymore. This is his 5th year. No excuses for that bad game at all.
The thing that is nuts to me is listening to JB Long say on his podcast that he rewatched the game and thought Goff had a fine game and then he added that he was being objective and had nothing to do with working for the Rams. When crap like that is said, JB loses a lot of credibility with me. But after all he is a ND alum. LOL
