And NO WAY am I trying to cut Kupp any slack... he failed.... that Int. by Goff was ATROCIOUS.. as well as some other misses.
I'm not picking 'who was worse' here... I stand by my position... both cost us the game.
I wonder if they're asking too much of Kupp? He's a great complimentary player but they're trying to make him into a primary player. More responsibilities on offense, putting him on ST...I think maybe they are exceeding what he can do. He was a nice surprise and over achiever in terms of even making it to the NFL. Maybe they should let him stay in his comfort zone?
Nope. Kupp is normally a wonderful and quite reliable weapon, and paid accordingly, I might add.
Last night was just one of those nights. He certainly was not the only one that had an ‘off’ night.
Give the 49ers a little credit, too.
I'm not talking about just last night though. Kupp as a third down specialist and security blanket for Goff is one thing but they're trying to do too much with him IMO. His game has suffered too. He's been making more mistakes and poor decisions. I'd rather see Reynolds or the rookie get more involved than overusing Kupp.
