Goff was not sacked once last night. I don't know the exact number of pressures but there is no way it was more than 7. My guess is 4 at most. He was basically playing pitch and catch with his receivers and he was flat out missing them.
He was bad in a clean pocket. That was a totally unacceptable performance. He looked jittery and his mechanics were bad and there is no excuse that pressure caused it. This is his 5th year, he shouldn’t look jittery in the pocket at this point.
The only argument I will accept is that it was a one-off game this year and it won't happen again. He should be able to handle a lot more pressure than he got last night and perform much better. Odds are he will see more pressure from Chicago, just like other QBs do against them, he needs to step up and play much better regardless of the increased pressure.
One thing was displayed last night, Goff can stink even with little pressure. Sure, pressure has a proportional affect on QBs, but Goff showed that you can't blame pressure for all of his bad games.
