Even Tony banks would have 1 good game in about 4, but Goff has been generally good when the elements around him are good as soon as Fisher was gone and McVay replaced him giving him a chance where the defense didn't know every play before the snap.
When things around him goes bad, play drops like 90% of the other other QB, but the bottom line is this: Unless you are Aaron Rodgers (a few years ago version) or Patrick Mahomes (current version), you need a good team around you to be successful.
I think Goff with a good team and a good coach can be a top 10 QB and he has flirted with that ranking in the past with playoff games, superbowl appearance, and plenty of quality wins against good teams, and 300+ yard passing games.
The one thing McVay and Goff is bad at is coming back when there is a time element. Too much piddling around and indecisiveness.
Good post 81! I gotta agree. For the amount of disrespect Goff gets from the National media, writers and on the net is way more than it should be IMO. Not sure why. Yes, he does have weaknesses but what QB doesn't? lol
Goff and McVay are a good combo and work very well together. I give a ton of credit to McVay for Goff's success but Goff's is also the reason McVay has success. How good were the McVay/Mannion or McVay/Bortles combos?
I have been a Rams fan far too long and have seen too many bad qb's to not appreciate what we have with Jared Goff and it bothers me that he doesn't get the respect he deserves. He will own most of the Rams passing records before he is done. Let's enjoy him while we have him.
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
