Goff is playing great this year.
But this will never take away the fact that he is non-improvisational. He has a great arm and can go through his progressions and make good decisions and throw accurately.
But all of this is rehearsed. He is following instructions.
If the play breaks down he looks very pedestrians and uncoordinated.
He has started to show a little more touch on the ball, but generally has one speed, mostly a mid range fast ball. Not much of a change up.
I believe this new QB's coach is really helping him by practicing the roll out steps and throws and probably why he is a little better at adjusting then pace on the ball this year.
It's all good. He is a top tier QB. But some of this stuff can't be learned.
Let's face it, he runs like a girl. Because he 6'5 and lankey.
But he also is very calm in the pocket and, like in the saints game, is probably the guy you want back there when we go to battle.
I like him more and more every year. I was a Wentz guy. Just from the eye test. I prefer a little athletic ability and physical toughness on my QB. After Bulger and Bradford, can't blame me for not wanting another 6'4" lankey guy.
But Goff has mental toughness and is pliable/durable.
Some pretty impressive throws so far this year...
Let's go Rams!!!
He is not perfect by any means brother. Having said that, there is a very SMALL list of QB's I would rather have than him!
BTW, I was a Wentz guy too but IMO, Goff has proven he is the better QB and has a higher ceiling than Wentz although they are two entirely different QB's. One is a "pocket passer" and the other excels on broken plays.
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
