Only two of our five starting linemen historically have been plus run blockers: Whit & Hav. And Whit last year took a big nosedive by struggling in the run game, which at his age is alarming.
All three "starting" on the interior (Boom / Blythe / Corbett) are soft in the run game. All are bottom feeders if you will, if compared to their counterparts around the league.
So yeah it's hard for me to think that Edwards isn't one of our best starting 5. In fact I am certain that Kromer's wrong in not having him in that lineup and probably wrong about Boom being a starting OG. But all that aside Kromer being right would be great for us because not too many teams have a guy like Edwards on the bench.
At this point all we have is hoping Kromer is right. Because we don't have a single thing really to refer to in this, outside of last year's tape. Sure hope he knows what he's doing.
