Not sure about your last sentence. My son was an avid Ram fan. We had season tickets to the Coliseum Rams and then at Anaheim. I took him to sooooo many games and treasure those times. In 1979 after the Ferragamo to Waddy TD in Dallas he called and was jumping up and down on his college dorm's couch that I couldn't understand him other than "we're going to beat Dallas (repeat, repeat, repeat and repeat again). His Dallas fan room mates were crying and he was soooo happy. When married and had two children he became a soccer coach on the weekends. Now both his children and himself are enormous soccer fans and have the soccer channel on all day Sat. and Sun. If there is a Ram game, when we're visiting, I go to a sports bar. I can tell you they are just as excited over the moves that soccer players make on the field than I am when the Rams score a TD. I mean screaming, yelling, and jumping off the couch at a great move or save by one of their favorite players. To them its not just about scoring. My grandson wears his favorite European team jersey- Dortmund -everywhere-unless its ski season. I suspect they are not alone.
