your OTs in college are your most athletic because they are basically out on islands, handling the fastest DEs. A lot of DEs are 250 lb speedy guys. So if you are a zone scheme NFL team, you want athletic, easy moving light footed guys across all 5 OL spots.
So what makes sense, is take a 6'-4" OT that has 33" arms and move him to OG in the NFL. There you have an athlete, and good mover that was never going to be long enough to survive on the outside in the NFL. So thats why the Rams (IMO) are taking so many OTs.
