he's my #5 OT prospect and #39 overall prospect overall. He was my #2 OT prospect going into the season, because Wirfs was looking like an OG, Thomas was a fit for power man blocking schemes only, Becton was fighting controlling his weight.
Wills is the only guy I had in front of him. And it wasn't like he had a bad season. Wirfs turned into the stud he should be, Becton got his weight under control and literally dominated everything in a 10 yard radius of him and Thomas looked like a top 15 pick all season.
Jones is an elite athlete for his position, so he fits the Rams run scheme. Has improved every year, and looks like he is very coachable. You see glimpses of some nasty attitude in some of his finishes.
He needs some work in his technique, esp. his footwork and his hand placement as he got by on his crazy athletic ability alone. But his size, length and build combined with his athletic ability make him a rare prospect.
That said, he is a high ceiling, low floor, boom bust type of prospect many of you will not be happy with. I will say this, If I'm gambling on a boom/bust OT I'd rather do it at 52 with Josh Jones as opposed to do it at #2 with Greg Robinson...
I just prefer a ILB or Edge or RB or OC in round 2 for now.
