well i put the word inflated in quotes as i didnt know how to phrase the compensation structure. i accept the premise but dispute the causal mechanism and thus some of the underlying ramifications.
you could be right about an unwritten rule but i knida doubt it. first it would be considered collusion i think. more likely its just market forces at work. i havent given prescott much thought but maybe your right in that jerry is trying to fight the precedent.
