This year's OL didn't even begin to meet a basic standard of quality.
That's for 2 separate and different reasons.
* Both OTs started the season in regression. You can play 2 newbies inside if the OTs hold up. If the OTs don't hold up, starting newbies just makes things worse. No one anticipated that they would have a double issue at OT. When the season began with that problem, what could they do? It's a very rare team that has the depth to replace 2 OTs.
* Then on top of it they started 3 injury replacements. Those 3 are inexperienced and 1 is a rookie. The fact that they were competitive in ANY games with with that situation speaks well of the players and coaches. Anyone who disagrees can cite me examples of OLs playing well with 3 inexperienced mid-season injury replacements
They just got caught transitioning between the 2018 and 2020 OLs.
