Besides Goff, Josh Allen and Sam Darnold are the only other two starting QBs in the league that have a sub 60 QB Rating under pressure for the last two seasons. Those types of numbers are not sustainable for starting QBs.

The Rams will have to invest money into the OL. And they can't go cheap here. They're going to need someone like Brandon Scherff.

Lastly, they're going to have to move away from the zone blocking scheme. That scheme calls for guys who can move but have no power. It's a big problem when they face physical fronts that overpower the OL. If they had a mobile QB, maybe it works better.

I think you're being too categorical. They need a good OL--as do all teams if they expect to compete--but it does not have to be a top 5.

Rams are not the only team to run a ZBS, and they were'nt ALL overwhelmed by physical D fronts. If a flaw were that obvious, simple, and fatal, then no one would ever run a ZBS scheme. But teams constantly do.

Recent teams that have seen success with the ZBS include Dallas, New Orleans, and Seattle.

And the Rams having been running with inside power this year.

The problem right now is that you are simply NOT going to have a consistently coherent and effective OL if you are starting 3 injury replacements who all also happen to be inexperienced newbies. That's regardles of the qb or the scheme. A line like that will stumble. It's a testimony to some of the players and the coaching that it isn't just flat incoherent EVERY game. As it stands it's just inconsistent.

The Rams are not the same as all teams as far as OL goes. They need a better OL than most teams b/c their QB is worse than the average QB when he isn't protected. Hence why I pointed out that only 2 QBs in the league are worse than him under pressure.
