I think Noteboom has the feet and athleticism of a LT much more so than a guard. And he clearly did not have the strength at LG that Saffold has- a big drop off there. I do think crushing it in the weight room the next 9 months would do a lot for both Noteboom and Allen. In the case of Allen I would still find an upgrade at center if they can and would be all for taking one in the mid-2nd round. The example of McCoy in New Orleans and his impact is a good one. But as we have finally seen the OL needs depth and a stronger Allen would be a good top interior backup option.

I’ll be shocked if they don’t add at least 3 guys to the OL. The idea of sticking with the guys they got is a recipe for disaster and I think McVay is too sharp to let that happen.

They guys they have will be a big part of any future OL. Linemen develop and McVay is not so stupid that he throws away the chance to take advantage of that. That will include at least Edwards and probably Evans and NB depending on recovery and possibly even Allen.

I promise you, there will not be a situation next year where the starters include 3 guys who were not with the team this year.

Listen to VB talk about the difference between last year's Vikings line and this year's. Most of it was just development.

Looking at the Vikings, They added 2 new starters this year. They drafted their Center Bradbury in the first round, add got their RG Klein from Tenn. Their RT O'NEIL was a 2nd rounder in 2018, and LG is Elflien a 3rd rounder in 2017. Their LT is Reiff who they got in FA from Detroit, a former 1st rounder. So they got 2 first rounders, a 2nd rounder, and a 3rd rounder on their OL.

We have nowhere near the talent level the Vikings have, especially with Whitworth likely gone next year. It’s a huge stretch to expect Noteboom to play LT coming off major knee surgery. Blythe is likely gone, Allen isn’t good enough. Edwards and Havenstein are most likely starters next year, and Evans is a huge question mark.

I promise you, there will be at least 2 new starters next year that aren’t on the current roster, and at least one more New OL added to the roster.
