Back in 2012 all everyone talked about was the high first round picks. It was all about Luck and RG3. Turns out both of those guys are gone, and the lower round picks are still around doing well.

Tells me that its quite possible to rebuild our OL with players drafted after the first round.

There is also the element to the draft that the talent level doesn’t drop off linearly. There is usually a select group of freaky guys in the top 12-15 players, then you get a drop off where anywhere from the mid to late first round all the way to the top of the 3rd round where they are very similar in quality.

look at WRs like MThomas, Kupp, JuJu, they were all drafted after the first round. And have outplayed many first rounders.

I think it’s easier with OL, except maybe LTs.

Here;s the hit percentage for 3rd round OL taken from 2012-2016. IE 5 consecutive years, but ending 3 years ago so there's enough time factored in to make judgments. Not counting back ups who got some snaps. This approach also counts guys who left the game cause of injuries as misses.

Okay 35 were drafted, 16 are continuing starters in the league. 45.7% hit rate.

Which is pretty doggone good.
