It won't. 2nd contracts are not based on things like that. It's what is the market this year for 2nd contracts, do we want this guy or not, etc.

When Cooks signed, 2nd contracts for WRs were around 16 M. That's what he got. That's what Watkins got. That's how the 2nd contract market works.
You're kidding yourself if you really think there is some sort of mythical 2nd contract cap or limit.... If Goff goes off and wins SB MVP this year you really think they're gonna say "well second contracts are only worth X amount of money" ???
Second contracts are based on the current market and a players value, not what guys made 5 years ago....see Joe Flacco when he reset the QB market after he signed his second contract or even guys like JimmyG and Cousins getting ridiculous money without really winning anything
Kirk Cousin just got $28M per fully guaranteed ....you think Goff isn't going to pass that at a minimum?
