You know, because journalists in all walks have long ago given up credibility in return for sensationalism and Fake News, when I hear this kind of stuff I take it with about 5 pounds of salt.
I have no reason to disbelieve the named or even unnamed sources but the proof is on the field and the performance. Journalists today are driven by editors to the sensationalism but that has always been the case. That is what sells newspapers (and more modern media) and makes a profit. However the term "fake news" implies something made up, a lie, a story with no basis in fact like Yeti babies, alien abductions and cancer-curing spinach. Without verifiable sources, editors cannot place their organization in a libelous or slanderous position.
Mistakes can be made, conclusions based on evidence can be incorrect and information can be skewed to lead consumers. However, facts are not fake. And considering the failure of the Packers to win more than one championship over the McCarthy era and have two losing seasons in a row points to a dysfunction somewhere in the mix. This article is simply pointing out the conflicting opinions of those involved and seems pretty balanced to me.
