When I say the poster was attacked I didn't mean a "personal attack" that is forbidden; I meant that his opinion was invalidated and tossed aside on the basis that he is a Goff hater and possibly trolling the board rather than debating the merits of that one particular opinion. The same thing with dismissing the expert opinion that started this thread. He's essentially dismissed as an idiot because he's been very wrong on QBs before. That literally has NOTHING to do with the merits of this one, particular opinion.

I find this level of defensiveness generally only applies to Goff. I understand your point below about taking the whole body of work into account but again, it seems to me that when the discussion is about Goff, irrelevant reasons to dismiss critical opinions of him are more quickly brought up than with any other topic.

But I wasn't saying that you were violating board standards. I apologize if it seemed I was.
