I would love to see more discussion on "different views on why Goff stumbled, and to what extent, and how much it affected the loss, and how much of it was him, and what it means."
My call for us to be less defensive is for the purpose of having a real debate about real things.
How can we have a real debate on Goff if when I say "Goff played horrible" someone comes back with "you're a Goff hater!" or "you've had wrong opinions before!"?
I called it defensiveness. Scratch that label. Call it whatever you want. That type of response precludes a real discussion.
So yes, I would love if we just flowed. Let's flow with discussing the merits of someone's opinions.
