And if as I said his play on the field is the result of a solid player being maximized by a top coach---then no he is not unexpendable. Kromer can find another guy who like Hav is solid, smart, and coachable---and is NOT inherently a top talent
If you can find another guy (which is relatively much easier at ROT) then why give a big contract to THIS particular solid and coachable ROT.....
I don't think he is just "solid" and "coachable", and the RAMS (I will assume with the advice from Coach Kromer) think along the same lines. If they didn't I would doubt the contract would have been presented.
Well I've said a lot more about him that just that. But either way I see what I see. Smart, solid, coachable, good mind set, good run blocker, a just "gets it done" type, overall athletically not a top tackle in the league. He's interchangeable with almost every decent to pretty good ROT in the league.
So when I count up the 8 to 9 at most guys they can give the big contracts to, there are others on my list before him.

A quote from the above article...
So far this season, Whitworth is the No. 2 overall tackle, just behind his teammate Rob Havenstein, and Sullivan is the No. 3 overall center. The Rams' offensive line deserves a lot of the credit for the team's turnaround, those two key additions in particular. This came from the paragraph about pass blocking. Sounds like the authors are pretty high on Hav’s pass blocking to me.
How many sacks/pressures has he allowed this year? Anybody know?
