Anyone that has been paying close attention to O-LINE (Offensive Tackle) performance can clearly see Havenstein has been worth EVERY PENNY the Rams gave him.
I mean unless you really believe right tackles have the same replacement value they did 3, 4, 5 years ago..
To each their ownThe value of the RT has been going up over the last 5 years even before the rule changes.
Protecting your franchise QB from both the left and right side has much more value than it did a short time ago.
2018 is not your fathers NFL.2018 is starting to show a paradigm shift that was inevitable.
With the help of new NFL rules and offensive football (passing game) evolving all the way down to the high school level quarterbacks, the RT position is becoming more important and valued in today's NFL.
Sean McVay has a franchise QB and he knew that in 2018 and beyond the value of having 2 good offensive tackles is worth every penny even if it means having less money to spend on a so called harder position to replace.
This can be argued until the cows come home but nobody is going to convince me the RT position has the same replaceable value that it did 5 years ago.
