I respect Vinny, but it just doesn’t hold up, IMO.
According to Vinny, McVays plan is to not play Whitworth at all, and to play Havenstein. And to play Goff.
That means Noteboom plays LT.
How could that be a viable plan put in place at the start of TC? McVay could not have been confident that Noteboom could play LT at that point.
IMO, if McVay really wanted to play Goff, then he could play Whitworth and Noteboom.

You may not personally believe it, but it absolutely holds up as an explanation.
The issue was never Whitworth, it was Hav getting dinged and then playing 2 substitute tackles, not 1. That's what tipped it.
So, It's playing with 2 substitute tackles, not 1. In fact at this point, if Hav can go, so will Goff.
And, how do you know what their level of trust in Noteboom is? If AW had gotten injured last year Noteboom would BE the starting LOT. That's a story worth paying attention to because if they scored on NB, that's a big deal.
