I just read that Aubrey Pleasant said, "the game is changing. I think Sean and this organization are a microcosm of what’s going on. What matters is how you reach people, cultivate relationships.”
I won't be surprised if McVay is setting a trend here. And that if the Rams start the season well and healthy that more teams will pull back on PS. Who knows? This may be the last throes of PS for starters.
I have no issues with how McVay runs his training camp or how much at all he plays his starters this particular preseason.
If he stays the same course again in next years PS with winning results, he could very well be setting a future trend for other NFL teams.
I'm of the belief that not playing the majority of his ones in these PS Games is not going to be why the Rams lose the opener in Oakland should it actually happen.
I"m a strong believer that McVay not playing his starters against SF in week 17 was not why they lost to the Falcons in the wildcard round.
I'm not going to debate those that think the Rams came out flat and lost to Atlanta because of McVay playing it safe or what ever the skepticism's were. Those that stand firm that is was why they lost last seasons playoff loss are entitled to their beliefs.
McVay knows the pulse of his 2018 coaches, team & roster better than he knew the pulse of last years squad heading into the opener vs the Colts.
For my own selfish reasons of wanting to see a glimpse of certain starters play for a few series, I'm a little bit pissy but I believe in McVay and his decisions.
