That's all fine & good, but did Pitt miss on the 2nd overall pick in a draft (Grob) when studs were everywhere to be found (ODB, Matthews, Lewan, Z Martin, Evans, etc...)? Did they give up a 2nd rd pick to move up in the 1st and draft gadget Tavon Austin when apparently we were considering D Hopkins without needing to move up? What about a 2nd rd pick for Brian Quick? Also, not loving 2nd rd pick Everett from last year, pretty disappointing so far. These misses kept the Rams from being competitive for the years of the RG3 bonanza...pretty inexcusable.
Snead has been a very average GM, lucky to still have a job, but he does, and it is GM of my Rams, so I wish him well.

The Steelers have missed on first rounders, yeah. But then it has also been a while since they took 2 consecutive picks who were rookies of the year with each destined to be the offensive and defensive players of the year. And they've missed on 2nd rounders too. None of that is unusual, if you look around at the records of good drafting teams. All teams miss at times.
So it's all well and good to focus on Robinson, but IMO doing that just distorts the rest of the picture. The Rams record in the 3rd round for example is not just exceptional it's sensational.
I just prefer a more balanced account, one that also acknowledges that no team regularly drafts at a 50% rate or better, and all teams have 1st and 2nd round busts.
In terms of the other OL you list---actually the truth is, OL drafting in round 1 has never been chancier. It used to be that 1st round OL was one of the safest if not the safest picks. That's not true anymore and hasn't been for a few years (it's because the college spread makes it harder to assess linemen). So from 2012-16, 32 OL have been taken in round 1, and more than ever there's a fairly high failure rate, and that includes guys drafted to be LOTs who ended up not working there and so becoming decent at best guards and right OTs.
