I think the roster is pretty well set right now and that we will only be looking for depth.
I know everyone is concerned about the OLB and ILB positions and I agree we have the least experience at the those positions but we have a bunch of young talent that I think will be okay when you consider what we have in front and in back of them.
ILB - Barron, Littleton, Wilson, Hager
Barron is a proven starter and will really be helped by Suh. Littleton was really good last year and made some plays and I think they are ready to give him the job. Wilson has started before and he and Hager are good backups and good special team players. Now they may add an inside outside type in the draft but I don't think we have to if there are better players available at other positions.
OLB - Ebukam, Longacre, Fox, Thompson, Price*, Sickels*
Longacre played a lot last year and was very productive. I think as long as he is healthy he is a solid starter. Ebukam looked okay when he got his opportunity and Bum must feel he is ready. Fox is another guy that just seems to produce when given a chance. I see him in the rotation as these position are rotated more often the the ILB. I am not sure about the other guys so it would seem to me that this is the position of most need as after the top 3 guys we are talking practice squad type of players.
I would expect that we will use our 3rd or one of the 4th rounders on a LB of some sort. I think the biggest need we have is pass rusher so I expect that we will use probably 2 picks at least looking for that type of skill set.
This draft seems to be full of safeties and I expect that some will slip down into our territory that have a higher grade than where we are choosing. Perhaps we find a big safety that they feel can play LB, they seem to like those types and there is a good chance that type of player will be a value pick in round 3 or 4.
I also see us taking a shot a OL but it will be a shot in the dark and should only be viewed as a depth pick.
Really we don't have any screaming needs and will be drafting players that can standout of special teams which is where we will need them next year.
