And if McVay has been hot for Cooks all this time, we might see the offense tailored to him more then it was Watkins. But if Goff doesn't get on page with Cooks and McVay uses Cooks like a decoy, it could be an issue. Ok, I'll grant this could become an issue if that happens. Cooks complained before, he could do it again. He doesn't come with OBJ sized luggage though so I'm ok. I don't like selfishness but it's not so surprising for a WR. Other than that I haven't heard of any locker room issues.
I really have no issues with Cooks other then I get concerned he makes waves. He will get deep, take a jet sweep and generally fly around the field. Just what mcVay wants.
My real issues are the rental type moves and the lack of fixing existing issues by the front office. On the fixing existing issues, if you're talking about LBs, I think that's by design. Wade's lowest priority for his D has always been stopping the run. Historically, his teams haven't been great at that. So even without these moves, I don't think they were gonna spend a ton of resources addressing that issue.
And I were to get really honest, I don't mind signing Suh or trading for Talib as much as the Peters and Cooks trades because of the draft capital it cost. It's my view that the plan is to make Peters and Cooks part of the core and sign them to long term extensions. I see those trades, coupled with the trades of Quinn and AO, as a reallocation of resources into positions that are more prioritized in McVay and Wade's schemes. It remains to be seen if they sign but if they do, that makes the trade costs more palatable.
