The Rams OL has 3 2nd rounders, 1 3rd rounder and 6th rounder
The WRs are 2nd, 1st and 3rd rounders
TE is a 2nd rounder (unless you are counting Higbee the placeholder)
QB is a 1st
RB is a 1st
DL is 1st 1st 1st
THe Rams have 1 LBer a 1st rounder and then we have no idea who else is starting
the secondary is 1st, 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
So among 19 starters (and 3 LBer to be named later) only 1 is outside the 3rd round.
And only 3 were 3rd rounders.
So to recap:
19 players:
9 1st rounders
6 2nd rounders
3 3rd rounders
1 6th rounder
I agree the GB Packer model does not work. I said it in an earlier post. You need to draft well, get a FA or 2 and maybe trade when a player fits. My point, whether or not the Rams draft well or not, those 1st and 2nd rounders are more important then you think. And they are on cheap deals allowing you to resign your big fish (AD anyone?) maintaining depth. IMO this team is lacking the draft picks needed to maintain a lengthy run. I could be wrong.
