Guys, we have already acquired 3 guys who have been considered to be problems and are apparently considering another. I don't follow this stuff--they weren't Rams so I haven't largely cared--so I dunno how to assess the degree of the challenges these guys pose.
But I do have a question for you. To what extent do you, as a fan, respond significantly to the issue of character for members of teams you follow?
I'm thinking here of things other than competitive issues. Not whether a jerk makes your team better or worse or wins or loses games through behavior. But how you respond to a guy being a jerk ... and on YOUR team?
Define this however you wish and I'll answer later. But I'd be curious how jerks on your team would affect, at least temporarily, your feelings about the team. What do you think?
Peters I welcome w/open arms. Throwing a penalty flag into the stands, yelling at a coach. I'd rather him not do it, but those aren't "bad guy" things to me and don't bother me much.
Talib and Suh are @#$%&. As a fan I'm definitely intrigued to see what Talib next to Peters and Suh next to Donald looks like, but if neither had come I'd be just fine, thanks. As of now, I'll be glad when they move on.
And I hope Beckham doesn't come either. As others have said, I'd have MUCH preferred keeping Sammy for $16K than getting OBJ, and by no means only because of the extra $$$ and the draft pix.
It was SO easy last year watching guys like Gurley, Goff, Brockers, Wood, Kupp, Brockers, Whitworth lead the way. Even guys like Donald and Watkins that have showed some rough edges were easy to root for. Talib and Suh? Not so much.
