It's just been said by a lot of NFL folks over a number of years for there not to be some truth in it..
I think it is possible that they cheated against the Eagles in that superbowl.
BUT I don't think what I quote from you there is a valid argument. There are countless examples of folks saying things over the years, in the NFL and in the rest of the world too, where it turned out they were wrong.
Just people saying things is not a basis of truth, regardless.
Well, yeah, thats just the nature of the beast.
The bottom line on all this is that cheating will be part of Belichick's legacy. That doesn't mean he will not be regarded as arguably the greatest HC of all time.
The bigger question is should this stain on his legacy impact any post career accolades. Certainly, he's a first ballot HOFer. But will the NFL be naming any awards or trophies after him?
What will the Belichick Trophy represent? Best winning record by a cheater?
Not sure why you writing a moot post is in your mind about a moot point.
I said this:
I think it is possible that they cheated against the Eagles in that superbowl. You acted as if I didn;t say that, and then missed the point (entirely) on the rest of what I said.
My point was simple. People saying something is not evidence. That had nothing to do with cheating, Bellichick, his legacy, and so on. It really was exactly only this:
people saying something isn't evidence. That's completely unrelated to whether the Patz cheated. We dont' have to speculate about that.
We know they did. They were caught taping signals and walk throughs and there's reports of them stealing call sheets from locker rooms, etc. So that's not even an issue. They were cheating and caught doing it and busted.
But, at the same time, Bellichick aside, people just SAYING something is in itself not evidence. And that's just true.
And when it comes to the Patz CHEATING, they were busted WITH evidence, so that's not even an issue.
So I am not sure what your post is about but it's not really a response to what I wrote or think.
