By using this same type of accusatory logic, one could argue, "why in the wide world of sports did McVay let Goff attempt that long pass on 3rd and 11-- what, McVay didn't trust his defense?"
I don't believe that, necessarily. I'm just making a point. Part of it is just a semantic argument.
If the coach "trusts" his offense, does that mean he " doesn't trust" his defense? And if a Coach "trusts" his defense, does that mean he "doesn't trust" his offense?
I'm going to check out of this debate now, because it's devolving into a chicken -or -egg type debate.
Conservative or aggressive? Protect a lead, or score more points? Each situation is different.
It's part of what makes football fun-- and some football debates "unwinnable "by either side.
So I'll just end by saying kumbaya to all rams fans, ecstatic with the win, and so happy to have a coach that I trust to make good decisions.
