Basically the way he's handled the entire preseason appears to more or less be a disregard for it.
Can't say for sure this is what's going on with McVay, but I think a common pitfall for young and relatively inexperienced leaders is the overconfidence they can scheme whatever they have in mind into existence rather than drag it into existence through hard work and trial and error. Either he's right that he's just that good or he's about to learn some hard lessons.
I've said before and will repeat that I like McVay, but I don't think we should lose sight that he is very much a rookie himself. There are likely to be growing pains there, among several other critical places on this team. I just hope what we end up seeing this season is actually growth as opposed to what we've seen the previous 5 plus years.
