The excessive giving of "rest" to starters, I mean.
I have the greatest of respect for both McVay and Wade Phillips. But I've gotta say that I'm puzzled.
Going from a 4-3 to a 3-4 D under a new DC? And "resting" 9 of the 11 starters, anyway?
Adding a Watkins and not giving him more targets in the PS games? None in the 4th game?
A young QB in Goff that's trying to get comfortable in a new O with many new WR's and a new TE and pulling him in the 2nd qtr of the 3rd game? And not a single snap in the 4th game?
Ummmmm...
This could bite McVay in the butt if the starters don't hit the ground running vs the Colts. There will be no shortage of second guessers, that's for sure.
McVay didn't strike me as an overly cautious type HC. I must say that I'm surprised.
