You think he has achieved the status of "elite NFL WR?"
If so, bring your supporting evidence and let's see if it holds up?
Here's mine.
- 3 seasons, 0 Pro Bowls
- Not even "elite" relative to his draft class. Mike Evens 1 Pro Bowl, more receptions, yards and TD's per game played. Odell Beckham 3 Pro Bowls, WAY more receptions, yards and TD's per game played.
- His single best season (2015) would have ranked him 55th in receptions, 18th in yards and 5th in TD's last year among the leagues best receivers.
Your turn.
But the difference is, I don't need to refer to stats or pro bowls.
Heck I could cite a number of players that have gotten slighted for pro bowls, especially at the wr position.
The position is loaded.
In case you haven't notice this is the age of the aerial attack, guys are racking up yards like hotcakes.
So you gotta look beyond the shiny distractions to tell who's who.
Sammy Watkins on the field is an "elite wide receiver" by any definition.
So much so that I have no desire to defend it..
