But I still fail to see anything wrong with Donald holding out. Why should he limit his earning potential? Why shouldn't he do everything he can to make every dollar he can while he's in the league?
"He should be satisfied with $10M because that's a lot of money."
Please. Who are we to dictate how much money he deserves? Football is a business, and Donald has every right to use whatever leverage he has to get his. If he wants more than the Rams can afford, someone else will pay it.
False premise piled upon false premise, ramble.
You imply that the Rams are insisting on holding him to his rookie contract, which they have every legal right to do, btw.
But they're not. They have been negotiating in good faith for an extension for months and reportedly have a generous offer on the table as we speak. Apparently, AD (and his agents) want even more. That seems foolish and greedy on their part.
AD and his agents may have to learn about leverage in contract negotiations the hard way. Hope not, but right now I don't give a damn.
There is a larger principle at issue here about just how much a given team can and will allow a player to dictate contract terms in the middle of an existing valid contract. Hope the Rams stand their ground.
