that the position itself is overvalued, and AD himself is a bit overrated, so the money invested in AD should be scrutinized carefully... that the Rams shouldn't mortgage the farm for him, (so to speak)...and not...
That AD is a 'bad' player or even greatly overrated.
Like I said.. that's my take on his position.. and no doubt I'm off base here. - JamesJM
there are certain things that DO need to be looked at in terms of Donald .One is, even though he;ll still be a 3-tech in a 3-4, has anyone else mad monster years in that situation? No. Jerrell Casey may be closest. So, to expect the same production in a new scheme is dunious. Maybe Donald will be exception but part of what makes Donald great is his play versus run plays and setting other team back a yard or two on 2nd down. Will that continue?
But to make silly arguments and post stats that don't support the argument is really bad form. According to the stats posted 41% of AD's sacks were on 3rd down...when 33% would be expected... that kind of thing. And that 30.4% of his sacks came in 4th Q when 33% would be expected---what does that show?
So I comment you for trying to make sense of nonsense, but where I agree is that a change of scheme, no matter how friendly they make it to a 3-tech is still going to have some differences to a 4-3 even if it is just the alignment of the OLbers as opposed to the DEs. So, I would expect fewer sacks and tackles for loss this year than he's averaged last 3 years which is about 9 sacks a year and about 11-12 stuffs. And we have to ask is that worth it?
