I also submit that we have an idea of how they view the situation already. They have had 19 pre-draft visits that I know of. 7 of those have been WRs. They could have something in Woods and Tavon, look for something in the 2016 kids, AND add to it.

Doesn't mean there's an expectation that there's a strong starter in the 2016 kids. But it could mean that someone from that group develops a reliable, consistent role.

To be honest I'm not sure I'm getting the distinction you are making. But it sounds like it falls under the 'hope for the best, prepare for the worst' mindset.

After re-reading your post several times, I think I get what you're saying. It's true that there may be someone in there that develops into a consistent contributing role.

I just get the feeling that McVay is looking for something different. I think he is primarily looking for a strong starter that can take the top off of defenses.
