This is what I don't get.
Some on this board are all excited about trying to amass some more 4th round picks for this draft by perhaps trading back in the 2nd.
Funny how the NEXT draft seems like wonderful players can be found in the 4th.
But when reality strikes, we realize that there is a reason that guys are chosen in the 1st and 2nd rounds.
These guys I talked about were from the 4th round through UDFAs. And so there is little faith here they can ever become much. And I agree. I personally believe that of all them Spruce might be the one to become a solid-plus player. Higbee, perhaps. Cooper and Thomas.....I seriously doubt it.
Point being: we will do VERY well in this coming draft if our 2nd and 3rd rounders become solid or solid-plus starters. Any thought that we could possibly count on the 4th rounders to 7th rounders amounting to much is simply a shot in the dark. Might we hit on one......maybe two? It's not impossible but the odds stack against it.
So I want to see a WR or TE taken in rounds 2 or 3. No linemen until round 4. I want the odds to be with us.
