You are absolutely correct on his body - It was one of the red flags for me when they drafted him. Then we learned he has some kind of enzyme deficiency and cant gain muscle mass like most people
This team is a disaster and I'm not convinced at all it will be a quick turnaround
Bad news.
My hope is he could pull a Tom Brady and build himself up a ton. Brady came into the league as a bean pole too, and he worked hard to make himself a better athlete, with a much, much stronger arm, and better movement skills.
Goff is already faster than Brady, so he has a head start. But he could remake himself into a much better athlete overall, and improve arm-strength -- which is solid already as well.
Obviously, QBs are athletes too. So it goes without saying they should be working hard on conditioning, weight training, trying to get faster, quicker, stronger and more explosive too, just like anyone else on the team. But, not everyone buys into that idea, and I think it's a mistake.
