Love your reviews, Alyo. Always a good read.
I have no disagreements beyond your psychological preamble.
There I have a different and simpler take.
With the hire of the right new HC, almost all of our issues on O disappear.
The talent to be a playoff team is already on the roster, and more will be added next offseason.
What has been missing has been a HC with a killer instinct on O. One that wants to crush the spirit of his opposition, rather than trying to limp to a 3 point win behind an aggressive D and ST performance.
A Nick Saban type attitude. A Martz "don't call off the dogs" until we're up by 3 scores with 2 minutes to go attitude.
A very fun O to watch, BTW.
There is virtually no doubt in my mind that a Harbaugh (just for a handy example) could win 10-12 games for us in his first year with essentially this same roster.
The new HC will transform this O by the end of camp. The O players are hungering for the handcuffs to be removed. This New O in '17 will bear little resemblance to this pitiful '16 version.
It's all about whether they hire the right guy. They should have the pick of the litter, so there is that.
I can't wait for February, man.
