No , first and foremost I complain about the HC going with CK at QB when he gave up a boatload of picks to Goff in the draft.
Go Rams!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Meanwhile I also believe them when they basically say the rookie isn't ready to do any better.
..
Well, zn, maybe you have been believing too long and too much in what THEY are saying year in , year out.
Go Rams!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111111
What possible *realistic* reason would they have to lie about that? Think a coach would keep a clearly superior QB on the bench if he was ready to come in and tear it up?
I think people need to go back and watch his preseason. Not the scores, not just the completions, and not the TD. Watch his awareness in the pocket, his feet, and his timing. I'm sure he's gotten better, but this is a huge transition for him. Much moreso than it is for Wentz.
Yeah, basically.
Though you probably agree that Goff showed enough even in the preseason for us to be excited about what he CAN be once he's ready to be that.
....
Not really. Not his preseason. That was really gawdawful to me. He looked completely lost.
His college "tape", however, is
very encouraging. He can make all the throws and has great instincts. But man did he look overwhelmed in preseason. And that's to be expected, I think, because he took nothing from under center and didn't have to read coverages all that much. Not to mention the massive uptick in the speed of the game. When Fisher says they didn't want to set him up to fail, I get it. I really, really get it.
Not worried about it though. You and I were pretty adamant that Bradford was a very good QB, and we constantly outlined the reasons why the team wasn't succeeding under him. Look at him now. He's the same guy he always was. He's just succeeding now. Same can be said for Goff. You can look at a guy like that and just know that he's a very good QB. Putting him in now will just flip the script on the discussion about QBs in general around here and elsewhere if he does poorly. Meanwhile other people will just understand why and shrug. I imagine Fisher is acutely aware of how he'll fare based on his current development and progress, so he'll play when he's just comfortable in the system. If he has to go in early due to an injury, it won't be pretty, IMO.
