I think it's possible Keenum could have communicated better, made sure Quick and he were on the same page. Keenum himself said that.
I just think that's Keenum being a good soldier and good leader. He took the hit. It may even imply that this is an ongoing problem with Quick, and as much as I like how he played in Detroit, he is capable of running the wrong route and has probably done it before.
but, none of us know the signal and why Quick (assuming that's true) blew it.
Now, #41 is reading it all the way, and Keenum read the blitz, why did he want a fade? it's 4-down territory, the
maybe Quick thought he was supposed to break off route because that would be a normal thing to do, in that situation the under concept is a perfect call vs the blitz. It's the two outside receivers running unders and the #3 receiver running a choice, he would have had 2 open guys to get a quick gainer, perhaps break a tackle for 1st down
So, it's possible Quick blew the call, but that Keenum made the wrong call. Maybe calling for the fade versus that blitz was not the best option and Quick perhaps knew that.
So, what I say is we don't know and if we don't know we don't know. We can guess and there are alternate posibilites that goe deeper than "Quick blew it". And the way Keenum threw that ball, like a balloon it could have been a tough catch for Quick anyway, he should make that, Larry Fitzgerald could be able to haul that one in most of the time, but from what I've seen about Quick, that would have been a great candidate for an incompletion.
