They didn't need to get into Thursday nights, leave that for college.
They didn't need to move into Sunday evenings as well.
MNF used to be amazing, the league was selective in what teams played. I'm not saying they were all great games but the chances of a good one were much higher than today's high volume approach.
The one thing that DirecTV proved to me years ago, there's a lot of sucky professional football played on a given weekend. Now with games in 4 different slots a week more and more people are tuning in and seeing not so pretty football. It's a product, most won't pay for mediocre other than us lifers.
I also think most of us truly understand that the NFL is just a business, and another buck is always going to be their goal. Not necessarily the improvement of the on the field product or boasting the fan experience....just making a buck. London makes no sense, and never has except for a few extra TV dollars and some merch sales.
New stadiums have pushed much of the middle class out of season ticket sales, those were the guys and gals that made the NFL what it is today.
