I think they had a stat this am - that all rookie QB's who've played snaps this year have 2 picks combined. I like Case and root for him as he's the ultimate underdog, he didn't even get blessed with Warner's ability and he WAS the definition of underdog QB, but it goes back to the roster we're building for next year and the year after. It's not like we're one player away from the Super Bowl and we can ride Case into the sunset. You are investing snaps on a guy who won't be on the team next year.
That still doesn;t lower the percentages on rookie starters. Even factoring this year in, if you go back a few years and look at rookie starters, most don't play well in year 1 and the majority is sizeable.
I think the difference we;re seeing this year is that the rookies are playing for more established teams. That gives them some breathing room. Most rookie qbs start for bad, rebuilding teams.
Still the numbers are the numbers and even with this year factored in a large majority of rookie starting qbs struggle.
